Going to be "O-TAY"...

This morning a woke up with a terrible migraine. I took some over the counter meds hoping it would ease the pain, but it continued to get worse. Beckham woke up and he could see that I was in pain. "Mommy I call you an am-boo-lance!!" he shouted. I tried a few other remedies, but after hours of non stop throbbing and nausea/vomiting I decided to go to the Dr. Beckham was so concerned. He kept asking "Mommy whats wrong?" I told him that my head and tummy felt very bad and we were going to the Dr. to help mommy feel better.

We walked into the Dr. office and  filled out paper work. Soon we were called back and the nurse asked some questions and then checked temp and proceeded with checking my blood pressure. (Beckham was watching every move she made.) "Don't hurt my mommy" he said. "'I won't" the nurse said. The nurse put the blood pressure cuff on my arm and it pitched a little and I made a slight uncomfortable expression on my face. Beckham looked at me very serious and then ran over and kicked the nurse "I told you do not hurt my mommy!" he said. The nurse just laughed. I was a tad bit embarrassed he attacked the nurse, but touched that he was so protective over me.

While we sat and waited, and waited, and waited for the Dr. to come in. Beckham was there rubbing my back telling me "it's going to be o-tay mommy".  I started getting dizzy and feeling worse. I laid my head down on Beckham's lap and he played with my hair and just comforted me. He asked "Mommy you still sick". I shook my head yes. He raised my head up and went stomping to the door. He peaked his little head around the corned and spotted a nurse. "Hey" he said " my mommy is sick. Can someone help my mommy???"  2 seconds later the Dr. appeared. She gave me a shot and a pill to help with the sickness/migraine and prescribed some drugs for me to take at night and when I feel a migraine coming on.  On our way out of the office Beckham hugged the Dr. and the nurse and thanked them for "fixing" his mommy.

I am so thankful to have some relief. I am also very thankful that I had a great care taker today. Beckham has stuck by my side all day. He has been so helpful and loving. I think I am going to be "o-tay!"

Active, but Fabulous DAY...

This morning Beckham and I went to the gym. Wheewww... What a great workout. I was so motivated that when we got home we ate lunch and went on a stroll through the neighborhood with friends.

Beckham has definitely got use out of his stroller. He loves it!

After our walk we came and got a snack and then headed to the park. Beckham had a blast. He climbed, hung, jumped, drove, and rode an elephant.

We had an active, but fabulous day.

On the ROAD again...

January 29, 2012

Yep... you guessed it... on the ROAD again. We headed to Charlotte. We had somethings that we had to take care of with our place we packed up once again and hit the road. Beckham by far is the BEST child to travel with. He sits and observes the scenery. He rode for a total of 8 hours yesterday and didn't complain once.

"Hey wook at dat"

My parents called and were planning on meeting us in Statesville, NC, but we finished up in Charlotte early so we drove to Morganton, NC and had dinner. Can you guess where???

Of course...none other than Habaneros. Jeremiah and my Dad are obsessed with Mexican food and Habaneros is by far the best place in the world. My dad always orders fajitas. So when the waiter came to take our order Beckham said "My Paw Paw wants it HOT!"  Talking about he fajitas and the steam.

We had such a nice dinner. We went back to my parents house to grab a few things and get back on the road to VA.  We were only planning on staying a few minutes and Paw Paw sits up a tent in the living room. Beck was in heaven. He thought it was so cool. All the boys climbed into the tent.

I tried to come in, but apparently it was an all boys club and Beck zipped me out. Beckham was so giggly. He did not want to leave. Nanee and Paw Paw decided to put the tent in Beckham's room so that next time he came to visit he could play with it... so Beck was happy. He was starting to get sleepy so he curled up on Uncle Jacob.

Jacob is Beck's role model. He loves Jacob and everything that Jake does. When Beckham gets ready he wants to wear shoes "wike Jake", hair "wike Jake", play soccer "wike Jake", etc. When Beck gets tired or hurt he pouts and says " I miss Jayyy-cobb".  I think it is so precious. So glad that they have a close relationship.

When it was time to leave it was hard to say good bye. Beckham gave love, hugs, sang a song, and gave hand shakes. As we were all teary eyed we pulled out the drive way we hit the road again headed back home.

3 States in 1 day...

January 28, 2012

Jeremiah had to work today to Beckham and I had a special Mommy/Son day.  We went to an awesome play place to release some energy. Beckham always has a great time. There were so many kids. Apparently there were two birthday parties going on and it was a Saturday so it was a double wammy, but the more the merrier.

There were some little boys Beckham's age. I was looking forward to them being rough tough boys. Nope... not happening. Beckham has a tendency to attract the ladies. Most of all of Beckham's best friends are girls. So it was no surprise to see Beck playing with the girls. This group of girls were different. They were 3 times his age. LOL

They were carrying him around, feeding him, loving him, helping him up, etc. If I could not spot Beckham I just looked for the pack of 8 year old girls and Beckham was in the middle. It was so cute. Beckham would act like he was stuck and yell " Help me!" and the girls would come to rescue to help him. Then he would say " I can't do it. I am too wittle" and the girls would carrying him up the big tower. Yeah he knows how to get attention and he was loving it.  We spent a few hours playing and Beckham had to say bye to his ladies.

We enjoyed a wonderful hot fudge sundae. Beckham said "I lub the puddin in the cream". He thought the hot fudge was pudding in our ice cream.

We came home and rested for a while. We started missing Nanee and Paw Paw and decided to meet them half way for dinner. So Beckham and I packed up and headed to Boone, NC. We went to our favorite place Chick-fil-a.

Beckham was so happy to see his grandparents and we had a nice dinner. Beckham was telling them about everything. He was so well mannered. Paw Paw told Beckham that if he ate a few more bites he could get an ice cream. Beckham finished his entire meal. I was so proud.

Beckham went with Paw Paw to exchange his toy for ice cream and Beckham asked the cashier if he could put pudding on his ice cream. Beckham played a little in the play place and then we headed home before it got dark. We had such a good visit.

Overall Beck and I had an amazing day. He is my partner in crime. If moving to VA has done anything it has made me depend on Beckham more. He has this amazing personality. He is such a big ray of sunshine trapped in a little package. He is my everything. Even on the days when I am absolutely bored out of my mind he always does something to make me smile.

PS: Oh and Beckham and I went to 3 states today. :)

Mommy's BOY...

Last night Beckham had a traumatic accident. He was playing around in the living room and ran his car into the edge of our entertainment center. He got a "boo-boo" on his head and a bloody nose.

I was shocked at how well he handled his self. He let out a little whimper and wanted his mommy's TLC. He is so strong and one tough little boy.

Today we took it easy. Beckham was clingy today which I LOVED! Complete Mommy's BOY! I enjoyed every minute of it, because usually he is Mr. Independent. We had the best day. We curled up in the recliner and watched movies and laughed until we cried. Around 2' we snugged together and took a relaxing afternoon nap. Beckham ended up sleeping for a good 3 hours.

When he woke up he started asking about his daddy. Jeremiah will be working late this weekend due to some deadlines at work. I explained to Beckham that daddy was working late. Beckham replied "O-tay I guess I will make a special dinner for you mommy!!! And if you make a happy plate I give you some ice-cream!"

Aww how this precious little boy just melts my heart. Days like this I will treasure forever.

Belly Ache...

Beckham and I so enjoyed sleeping in this morning. Nothing more that I love than being snuggled up to my sweet little boy.

Once we got our lazy booties up we ate a bowl of cereal,  took Diesel for a nice walk, and then played trains of course. It's not a good day without trains.

Beckham said that he was "Hun-gee" so I went to the kitchen to start to prepare lunch

As I was fixing lunch  Beckham came into the kitchen and said in the saddest little voice "Mommy I have a belly ache in my belly."

" Oh no!" I replied. Digging through the cabinets trying to find something that I could give him to help his belly.

He then said " Never mind it was just a toot!"

I was rolling. He is such a boy!!!

No more "SNIFFS"...

The weather has been so crazy this week... One day it's beautiful the next it's cold and gloomy. I believe the weather has caused us to have the "sniffles". We have all had our share of allergy issues, but poor little Beckham has had it the worst.

Beckham has been waking up with the "sniffles". Today was his first day he could breathe.

He said "Hooray I have no sniff in my nose."

Today was absolutely beautiful and was such a shame that we spent the first half of our day in the DMV. Who knew that switching your stuff over to a different state would be such a pain in the booty.

Beckham and I got home around 2 and then started cleaning the house. Surprisingly enough Beckham is such a big help. He did laundry, washed dishes, vacuumed, mopped, and sanitized his toys. Beckham loves getting rid of all the "derms" and "dust bunnies"

Then as we sat down to rest the neighborhood kids invited Beckham out to ride his bike.... how could we say no. So we joined the fun.

Beckham had a great time with the kids. He was so excited he had to call Nanee and Paw Paw to tell them about all that he had done.

We had a good day and best of all no "sniffs" in our nose.

B...a line with two humps...

Today Beckham and I were suppose to go to the library for story time, but stayed home and just hung out. He woke up with a stuffy nose and just wanted mommy's TLC. We watched movies, read books, and just snugged up together.

After lunch Beckham said he wanted to make some new art for the refrigerator. So a got a piece of paper and some stickers for an easy, but fun craft.

I drew the letter B and Beckham covered it with smiley stickers.

Beckham worked very hard on his art. He was so proud when he was done.

We then  talked about words that start with the letter "B". I started naming a few: ball, bat, bean,....Beckham said "Hey mommy B is for me...Beckham!!!"

He tried writing the letter on paper and then added it to his picture.

He was so precious... as he would write it he would say "B... a line with two humps".

Motivation...

What an active day!!!

My friend Melissa invited me to try a class at the gym with her and I thought I would give it a try. So Beckham went to a little class and played with friends while I went to my class to workout.

I was so excited. This was my first "official" fitness class since I had Beckham. So I was pretty pumped. I have been needing some motivation to get back in shape.

The class was fun and the instructor was so positive and motivating. She gave encouragement all the way through. It was not as easy as I had thought. By the end of the class I was hurting in places I did know could hurt.

Beckham asked "What's wrong mommy?" as I crashed on the bed (after walking up two flights of stairs). "Mommy is out of shape" I replied. "No shape" he said.  I shook my head yes. "But mommy," he said "You is round so you is a circle. YAY!" (smiling and clapping his hands so proud that he figured out what shape I am)

I didn't ask for an explanation on what he thought was round.

There are two possibilities:
1. He was talking about my head being round.
2. He was talking about my booty being round.

I am going to assume he was talking about number 2, but I am hoping and praying he was talking about number 1.

Either way... no harm done. I love him for being honest!

The instructor  did mention in class to find motivation. Her motivation was spring break coming up and looking good for a possible cruise.

I found my motivation. Thanks Beckham!!!

Relaxxx...

Today has been a very relaxing day.

We went to church and had wonderful praise and worship. When we got home Beckham and I took his puppy Diesel outside for an afternoon walk and then Beckham rode his bike with the neighborhood kids.

Then we relaxed and did a little painting.

I am so glad Beckham enjoys art. It is such a great way to spend mommy-son time together.
Painting is a relaxing way to let your imagination run wild...and Beckham has a great imagination.

Bend it like Beckham...

Today was a busy day. J was off of work so we spent the whole day together. We had a wonderful breakfast and then headed out and cruised around town. Beckham and J went and got their hair cut.

"like father like son..."

Beckham was not happy, but was easily persuaded with a sucker.

We then went to lunch at the oh so wonderful Outback. Beckham actually sat through the entire meal. I was one proud mom!

After lunch we went to Hibbett Sports to look at soccer stuff. Beckham has been so excited about starting soccer. Even though it is months away he has been practicing his soccer skills everyday. We walked into the store and Beckham was in sport heaven. He was so adorable. He ended up persuading his daddy to buy him his first soccer ball and soccer cleats.

 How could daddy say no...

Beckham put his new soccer gear to use. Let's just say he is definitely going to be a cute little soccer star.

Can you bend it like Beckham?

Chicken Weg...

Last night I fixed a big dinner. Beckham helped set the table and decided he wanted to drink from a big boy cup. Every time would pick it up he would say "both hands....eeee-zzzz" trying his best not to spill.

5 mins later he had an accident. Apple juice went everywhere. After the clean up crew (aka mommy and daddy) finished wiping up the mess we continued our family dinner. Beckham was now dressed for the occasion (in his underpants) since his shirt and pants got wet.

We talked about our highs and lows of the day. In the mist of our conversation J and I looked over at our tall sting bean child. Beckham is nothing but legs. He eats all day, but he burns it all of with all that energy packed inside.  His little ribs were poking through his chest. J said he looked like a spokesperson for feed the children.

I told J to leave him alone he just needed to put some meat on those bones and he would be fine. Beckham reaches over and puts a piece of chicken on his leg. "Oh NO! It's too hot! Mommy no put the meat on my bones. I no want a chicken weg!"

Beeb Feeb...

Today Beckham and I were making a list of thing to do. I mentioned to Beckham about getting his hair cut. He immediately responded "NO! I want to be like Beeb." I asked "Who's Beeb?" Beckham breaks out in perfect harmony singing

"Baby, baby, baby, oh Like baby, baby,
 baby, no. see like dat!"

I was laughing hysterically "Justin Bieber?" He said "Yess".

"Beeb"

Beckham officially has Bieber Fever or should I say Beeb Feeb!

Daddy needs "dat"...

As I am getting ready for church tonight Beckham came into the bathroom... "Mommy what's dat?" he said pointing to my make-up. "That's mommy make-up...it helps make mommy pretty" I replied.

Beckham was silent for a minute you could tell he was really thinking about it. Then he replied in the sweetest voice "Hey my daddy needs dat!"

Lunch with Friends...

Beckham and I joined some friends for lunch today at Burger King. Beckham was so excited to see his friend Kylie again. Beckham enjoyed his kids meal and of course the BK Crown.

King Beckham

After Beckham and Kylie finished their lunch they went to go play in  playplace. Apparenntly they were playing house, because Kylie referred to Beckham has her brother and Beckham was screaming from the top looking for his sister. It was so cute!

Just love their imagination and their energy. Man...if I could have half of Beckham's energy I would be like Wonder Woman. Beckham met a few other kids in the playplace and had a fun time playing with his friends.

After 4 hours of non-stop play Beckham and I packed up and headed home. In the car Beckham asked "Mommy can we have lunch with friends tomorrow?"
I am guessing by this comment he had a great time.

Cool Mom...

Beckham and I headed back for Virginia this afternoon.

We had such a fun time in the car. We started off with listing to Disney XM Radio the first part of the trip.... we sang and danced and had a silly time together.

As we were stuck on I-40 in a little bit of traffic due to the infamous road construction. I began to bust out some moves. Beckham was laughing so hard. A few seconds later the 18-wheeler beside us blew his big loud horn "HONK HONK!!!!!". Beckham lost it and I both lost it. I was somewhat embarrassed until I heard a tiny voice from the backseat saying "Mommy you are so cool!"

Then Beckham started a game...He would say "Next" and I would change the station and I would sing along. After about 5 time Beckham said " Wow mommy you know e-ber-ything!". I thought to myself what a smart kid.

I can only hope in 10 years from now Beckham will still think that I am a cool mom and that I know everything... the odds are not in my favor, but who knows it could happen. For now I am going to enjoy being the COOL mom.

HOME...

Yesterday Beckham and I went to our home church.

It was so nice to see everyone and be apart of a great service. Beckham was especially excited to see his friends and "Jesus". (Beckham thinks that the preacher is Jesus)

Beckham was able to unite with his life long sweetheart Emma Grace.

Beckham and Emma have been friends all his life. It has been fun watching the two grow up together.

To end the day right we went to eat at Beckham's favorite place in town...

What a good home cooked meal....
